Hector Marquez

Hector’s title and position is a relatively new one, we can even say it was “custom made” for him. He first draw our attention when he strongly gravitated towards the tacos and salsa on one of our meetings when he was still a first year medical student. We knew he was our guy when he started debating proper salsa making with the staff. Growing up and attending school (all the way through high school) in Mexico made him the prime individual to serve as the man in charge of all the translations and interpretations we use in the fair. He is currently an approved medical translator in the UT Southwestern hospital system as well as an instructor for the Spanish Interpreter Apprenticeship Program in the school. Word to the wise, do not bring up guitar playing in his presence, he is known to break down into tears with the topic. Some say medical school was his backup if he did not manage to become a rockstar.
