Balloon Animals
Volunteer to make balloon animals or hats for kids. Please sign up if you already know or would like to learn how!
Bookmark Making
Volunteers will help patrons from kids to adults make their own personalized bookmarks to take home. There will be precut shapes for children as well as markers, colors, and other supplies for kids and adults of all ages to decorate the bookmarks.
Bracelets & Hairbands
Volunteer to help kids make their own ouch-less bracelets and hairbands with optional decorations (beads or bows). Instructions are found on this webpage: http://www.lifeinthegreenhouse.com/2013/05/diy-creaseless-hair-ties.html
Build Your Own Stethoscope
Help kids make their own stethoscopes out of pipe-cleaners, bottle caps, and other art supplies. We will also have a real stethoscope on hand for them to try out and volunteers can take this opportunity to tell kids a bit about the importance of heart health.
Calming Snowglobes
Help kids fill plastic containers with water, glitter, and food coloring to make their own snowglobes!
Cherry Blossom Painting
A long piece of paper (11x 17 inches?) is already painted with a brown trunk (so the kids don’t smear it when they apply their flower paint). There are paper plates with pastel colored tempera (or washable) paint. Each plate has a two liter bottle that is dipped in the paint and applied to the paper. The pattern it transfers is like a cherry blossom – they can “stamp” as many or as few as they want and it will still look great.
Face Painting
If you’re artistically inclined, we need your skills! Sign up to be a traveling or stationary face painter. Kids (and adults) of all ages will be flocking to this booth to have (simple to ornate) animals, flowers, superheroes, butterflies, etc. painted on their faces.
Origami
Learn some basic Origami and help teach it to kids! Instruction manuals will be provided.
Photo Booth
Volunteer to take photos at a photo booth that we will post to the Carnaval de Salud Facebook page. This booth will help add to the fun atmosphere, making it more exciting and memorable for our patrons and their families.
